Valerie Allen

Valerie Allen is a professional artist living in the MIdwest. She received her BFA from University of Cincinnati. She is a certified working artist for Golden Artist Colors, New York and co-founder of the podcast, Art Ladders: The Creative Climb. Valerie has exhibited nationally including the Chicago Biennial; New American Drawing, Santa Fe; National Collage Society, New England; and Site: Brooklyn, New York. Internationally she exhibited in the Mostra Internazionale di Pittura in Matera, Italy curated by Pino Nicoletti. She has lectured across the Midwest on painting with acrylics. These lectures are presented to university art departments, guilds, and associations. Valerie has juried exhibits at Anton Art Center’s Michigan Annual XLVIII, Ann Arbor Women Artists Summer Show, Midwest National Abstract Art Exhibition, Southside Art League, Indiana, and 2019 International Art Explosion, Michigan. As a curator, she promoted artists of the Great Lakes Bay Region organizing exhibits at Studio 23, Bay City, including a collaboration with the Saginaw Basin Land Conservancy titled “Land to River” in 2021. Working as a teaching artist, Valerie’s most current online course is titled “Abstraction Now”. She creates art in her studio at the Stadium District of Midland, Michigan and her summer studio east of Cincinnati, Ohio.
